![]() My skin is very fare and gets irritated easily so any advantage is welcome. At the top of the blade is the little moisturising strip, the theory is that once you've started shaving, the little strip will immediately start moisturising the skin in order to reduce rash or skin irritation. On each blade is a tiny little bump that helps to reduce the blades from cutting into the skin and instead focusing on cutting the hair. The blades themselves are placed very close together, which means that longer and thicker hairs (like mine) tend to get a bit clogged if not cleaned often. ![]() Rubberising the handles has made them nice and durable when they get wet, so overall the handles are very nicely made, with the Hydro 3 sporting a bit more shine with its silver trimmings. The Hydro 3 did however come with a tidy little cradle for the handle which is nice.īoth models share the same body shape, a nicely curved handle for comfort with a nice little spot for our index finger to press against, both sport a swivel head to better contour with the shape of the jaw, the Hydro 3 however does seem to feel slightly heavier in feel, but both are very nicely weighted and supremely easy to use. The Hydro 3 however comes in military grade plastics that only well timed explosives or highly excited children on christmas morning can get through, so after borrowing the neighbours kids for a few minutes I was finally in contact with these new razors and can see what all the fuss is. The Hydro 5 comes in very simple rounded plastic packaging with easy to remove cardboard on the back for quick and painless access with a tidy little plastic cover for the blades themselves to prevent damage. ![]() They have also been nice enough to provide me with a their new Hydro 3 and 5 razors to blade my face with, so lets see how they perform in their own right and determine if they are do indeed help give us a less irritated shave, or see if this is just some little gimmick that really won't give us any more reason to choose them over the competition. Schick have been busy little bees recently and have gone in a seemingly new approach to mens shaving, by adding little moisturizing strips to the blades to help reduce skin irritation and give us a closer shave. The addition of extra blades on the razor have helped cutting hair closer to the skin, and refined blades have helped reduce bleeding and skin irritation. What has changed however are the efficiency's and neat little gimicks devised to make our face cutting time all the more timely and comfortable. The of the razor hasn't really hasn't had too many revolutions over the past few thousand years, and a good old fashioned cut throat razor will still give you a very manly (and possibly bloody) shave that will still make you look like a boss. Shaving is one of those things that we as men must go through on a regular basis to keep our appearances clean and professional, be it for the office, comfort or to attract pretty ladies with, and while electric razors can save us time with their quick and efficient nature, they can leave our faces sore and rashy as they rip and tear the hair from our faces, so razors are the way to go.
